Honoring Ordinary People as Everyday Heroes
Henry David Thoreau said... "The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men" and that's exactly who we want to honor at the 7th Annual Laclede County Hometown Heroes Breakfast, April 29, 2010. The common, everyday citizen who makes a difference in the lives of others. This community event goes hand in hand with the mission of the American Red Cross... one person putting his or her needs aside to help another. Red Cross Volunteers provide relief to victims of disasters, and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Across the nation, over one million of them do this each day and every day.

What better way to celebrate the spirit of humanitarianism than by recognizing local acts of heroism and by honoring the people right here in our community who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character.

But we need YOUR help finding them. Nomination Deadline is February 12, 2010.
